民進黨立委陳其邁今天(24日)表示，國民黨總統參選人洪秀柱若要退選，應趕快告訴民眾，並停止收受政治獻金。對此，洪辦發言人王鴻薇說，近來洪秀柱的民調逐步攀升，黨內高層也都公開「挺柱」，洪秀柱參選的決心堅定不移。她批評陳其邁的發言語無倫次，並要求民進黨就近日兩場募款餐會獲利達新台幣1億元向社會交代清楚。

王鴻薇指出，民進黨於24日及25日分別在高雄、台中舉辦募款餐會，席開250桌，募款餐券少則每張3萬元，多則5萬元，粗估兩天就獲利1億元，其中有些餐券是企業購買或金主花蓮線上英文 一對一 一對 英文 一對一英文家教費用認購，此舉是否違反政治獻金法的規定，民進黨才應該交代清楚。

此外，對於有媒體報導洪陣營有意撤換發言人之一的徐巧芯，王鴻薇說，徐巧芯這段日子以來的表現非常優秀，在電視上舌戰綠營名嘴非但毫不畏懼，且發言冷靜沈著，進退應對更是得體，常讓綠營名嘴啞口無言，洪辦十分青睞徐巧芯，根本沒想過要撤換她，媒體的報導是空穴來風。
